My DH loves his furry family and treats them like royalty. I was looking on the computer tonight and saw some NEW PICTURES that I just had to share.

MEET DAISY MAY………who is guarding “HER MOUSE TENT.” Yes – my DH makes sure that the kitties have LOTS of places to sleep … tents…..bedssssssss……. towers ………we are overrun with kitty resting places!

OOPS….looks like Tonto Morris got past the GUARD and has entered the mouse tent…..and is giving Daisy May kisses…..maybe he lured her into getting his own way (we females are sometimes such pushovers! LOL) BTW…..DH named that cat TONTO MORRIS!!!

NAP TIME…..look who is INSIDE THE TENT……too cute. By the way, these two cats are from Catherine’s litter….well, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN……Catherine had a stray cat enter her house through her doggie door and deposit a little litter……:) SURPRISES ARE THE SPICE OF LIFE!

After his nap, Tonto decided to guard some of my quilts that I have draped over an antique blackboard!

AND….Daisy decided to have another NAP in her ZEBRA BED.

Pepper kicked her out ….. and no kisses …. just male dominance and female gentility! I have NO CLUE why Pepper likes to sleep in the cat beds because he has SEVERAL BEDS of his own!!

OH .. yes .. and if two cats and one dog aren’t enough … two turtles have ADOPTED MAX. Tara I and Tara II came to live in our backyard three years ago and have hibernated happily ever after. I wonder if it is because My DH, Max, feeds them cat food?

I honestly DO NOT KNOW why I love looking at food – I just think it is beautiful – artistic – colorful…….and I KNOW that this is STRANGE but I just want to take a picture of food that I think is beautiful……..

Catherine and I went to SHORT PUMP – I just had to get my TEJAVA TEA at Trader Joes! That area is just as much fun as Disneyland for me……WHOLE FOODS, TRADER JOES, HOBBY LOBBY, HOMEGOODS and more.

We started at 8 am………..and hit WHOLE FOODS FIRST – oh my, the food was just SO GOOD that it made me swoon! LOOK!!! Isn’t this colorful?

…..there’s more……all of these foods – so artfully displayed – are on the list of the TOP 30 SUPER FOODS!

…and this was something new for me – a HONEY DISPENSER……..and I almost bought some honey just so I could pull that handle and fill a bear! :) Catherine thought it was pretty cool too!

…and now for our Breakfast/Lunch…..however shall I choose what to eat. This is HEALTHY FOOD and beautifully displayed! In the foreground are BLACK LENTILS – I had never seen black ones before!

… I got so excited about the food that I almost didn’t take a picture of Catherine’s NECKLACE…….she never ceases to amaze me with her talent and creativity. She MOLDED that form on her necklace – it is decorative on BOTH SIDES TOO!

… I went to SHORT PUMP to get TEJAVA TEA at Trader Joes (my favorite) but while I was at WHOLE FOODS I tried HONEST TEA and it was good too!

Catherine and I were so enamored with WHOLE FOODS and the wonderful food that before we KNEW IT it was 10:20 (that is how GOOD THAT PLACE IS.) OK – so WHOLE FOODS is going on my list of FAVORITE THINGS and I can’t wait to go back to eat there again!

We dashed through HOME GOODS and TRADER JOES – and did a SLOW DASH through Hobby Lobby! :) I got supplies for my Colonial Piecemaker’s CRAYON CHALLENGE QUILT. My assignment is to make a quilt using only two colors – orange and white……so this will really be quite a challenge.

Finally we went to visit Karen – and we had a wonderful time! She showed us her new toy – a computerized quilting machine. Catherine is excited because Karen can quilt SCOTTY DOGS! I took a picture of Karen with the quilt that Catherine and I made her when she had brain surgery on the back of her chair.

I love my cats – yes – and I REFRAIN from posting their pictures too much – but JUST THIS ONCE I have to share our trip to the vet this week with three of them! Two of them complained endlessly – but it was still lots of fun! It always AMAZES me how loud those little critters can be when they have an opinion to share!

Oreo Cookie (Yes that is really her name – don’t all of your pets have middle names too?) did not complain even once – in fact she had fun! I think we should change her name to KITTY PERRY – her first hit could be “I KISSED A DOG….” Ok – I just did that to make my DD roll her eyes. (I didn’t REALLY think it was that funny – REALLY!)

Hannah Fay weighed 8 pounds, Midnight weighed 14 and Oreo weighed 12 – and next time I will make sure that they all travel in SEPARATE CRATES – that was a heavy party for sure!

And while we are speaking about parties – I just had to share the cast of the movie party (and in case you must MIGHT be wondering why I took a picture of the girls in the shower – I will tell you…..it was REALLY THE ONLY PLACE where the LIGHT WAS JUST RIGHT……and ANOTHER THING – it was NOT my idea to take the picture – I am just saying………)

If you aren’t family, this might not be interesting…..but I couldn’t resist posting these FUN IN THE SNOW PICTURES!!! Snow is just the BEST THING! Yesterday was perfect – lots of snow, but it wasn’t that cold! GO FIGURE!

Yes, we do have a SNOWMAN with a carrot nose – I forgot to tell them to use a pickle ALA Sheddy. I love her story of always putting pickles on her snowmen for the nose.

And dogs like to play too. Ruby not only loves to EAT the snow, but she also likes to dig in it – and SLIDE in it too!!!

One of our cats, OREO, loves the snow too…..we keep her on a leash outside since she is an indoor cat!

And what better way to end the day than to build a snow igloo. The kids could actually crawl inside!

But now there is a time and place for EVERYTHING…… my parents and my brother and SIL need to MOVE – so I am praying for GOOD WEATHER for the moving process!

December 5 we had our first snow of the season….oh how exciting……even though it was theoretically not a snow storm, we celebrated just the same!!!!

The grandangels even took Ruby (the dog) out to play – and one of our cats, Oreo, got to go outside on a leash. SHE LOVED IT.

I love snow – it is on my list of FAVORITE THINGS! There is something especially exciting about the FIRST SNOW OF THE YEAR – love watching it fall!

Happy Birthday to all of my family peeps (furry and non-furry) in OCTOBER!!

Happy 21st birthday to my nephew Eric – who turned 21 on October 10th! Here he is with his dog, Jessie. Eric was at school (a psychology major ) for his birthday – I wonder if he spent his 21st birthday studying.

On October 12 Cuddles Tinkerbelle turned 2 years old. She and the other cats love to sit on the windowsill and make bird calls!!! I love Cuddles – she is shy but ever so sweet! She likes to sleep on me!!

October 14 my grandangel SARAH will be 10 years old…..her first double digit birthday – it can’t be true. LOVE LOVE LOVE Sarah 10! I believe that Sarah gives the best hugs in the family!!!

Today Catherine left a basket of goodies for me – love these frozen lemonade treats! TOOOOO NICE. She gave me the funny glasses with straws attached too. Daisy May is having fun licking the frozen lemonade cups! THANK YOU SO MUCH CATHERINE. I am feeling much better now…..I am going to get up and rejoin the human race tomorrow. I appreciate all of the good wishes, e-mails, and prayers.

July 8 – my neice, Amanda, celebrated her birthday. She has brought smiles to all of us since 1977. And she has given me my first grandniece and grandnephew. THANKS AMANDA. You are awesome!

July 27 – our cat - Midnight Junior – turned 3 – she is a sweet kitty and totally black! Yes, we celebrate furry birthdays in this family! Here she is eating Grandangel Sarah’s braid!

July 30 – my mother turned 88 – and without her a lot of us wouldn’t even exist! Am I ever happy that SHE was born. I got to celebrate her birthday with her this year – and I don’t think I have missed being with her on her birthday very many times in recent years!

August 2nd, Grandangel Collin turned 13 – I think it is fun when the grandangels become teenagers – such adventure moving from childhood to adulthood. Here is Collin 13! I predict that he will be in the TOP TEN on the list for all time sweet teenagers (even though he has been known to try to CHEAT at DOGOPOLY when playing with his dear grandmother! ).

And – by the way, I will NEVER EVER reveal that actual top ten list. However, as my grandangels age, I MIGHT have to expand the list to MORE THAN TEN! LOL

Although I have three wonderful brothers, I have never had the pleasure of having a biological sister – however I have been blessed with sister-in-laws. Chris has become my true sister-in-love – and she is celebrating her birthday August 14th! Here is a picture of Chris with my sister-in-law, Elaine. They are both as nice as they look! I have sisters after all!!!

August 19, my nephew Joey will celebrate a birthday and commence his SENIOR YEAR in high school. Joey is the exercise guru in the family – his muscles have muscles! I must say that he is definitely on the LIST of Sweet Teenagers – and I think he is handsome too!

As a little girl, Christi always used to tell me that she was going to grow up and live next door to me – guess she was a little prophet! She also used to tell me that she had ANOTHER mother who was nicer than me….that is a story that always makes me smile NOW but I wasn’t so PLEASED way back when. :)

And last but not least is my FIRST GRANDANGEL Brennan’s birthday August 22nd – born in 1987 – Brennan will be 22. Brennan is a student at USC in CA and I think he looks like a movie star! I am TOTALLY OBJECTIVE, of course! Actually I am sure that I am objective because I asked his girlfriend and SHE AGREES with me that Brennan looks like a movie star!
