Thanks to Robert I have pictures of the NINE QUILTS from the nine shops that participated in the 2009 Tour de Quilt.  Aren’t they wonderful – all made from the tour fabric.  Do you have a favorite?

Day Three of Tour de Quilt at Quilter’s Corner

Posted By on October 17, 2009

It was another day full of oohs and aahs during Tour de Quilt – Day 3 – at Quilter’s Corner.  Some folks were having SO MUCH FUN that they had visited all nine shops on the TOUR and were coming back to Quilter’s Corner for an encore.  That was fun!

Even though we had a local parade that closed the road getting to us for a few hours this morning, I was AMAZED at the determination of the folks in the world of quilting.  Many just parked and HIKED right in to QC!   It was cold and rainy too – but I know that it was an effort worthwhile!  I knew that it was all worth it by looking at their happy faces as they raced for the hot pumpkin spice coffee.  🙂

I especially had fun today because I learned to use a light box and was able to trace a design onto fabric.  Now all that I have to learn to do is to embroider on the lines that I drew.

Here are some of my photo memories from today!  Check out Marla’s antique quilt from a quilt store in Oklahoma – and the quilt with 600 flying geese – and they all looked PERFECT.  My oh my!!!  What talent!

Day Two of Tour de Quilt at Quilter’s Corner

We had another great Tour de Quilt day at Quilter’s Corner in Midlothian, VA!  I had  fun seeing friends and meeting new folks.  It was great  and I spent so much time laughing and  TALKING today (and I might have eaten a cookie or two as well!)  that I didn’t end up taking a lot of pictures – but have no fear, I did take some!  I would have taken a picture of a certain someone who looked FABULOUS today in a beautiful orange sweater – she knows who she is – but she THOUGHT her hair was having a bad day – hence no picture – MAYBE TOMORROW,  S.E.!!

AND I MUST MENTION that Chris AND Susan designed the 2009 Quilt – and how did Chris escape my camera two days in a row?  She will appear in tomorrow’s post for sure!!!!  Well, I HOPE so, anyway!

I hope to see more of you Saturday and Sunday – we have Pumpkin Spice Coffee, lemonade, chocolate chip cookies, apples, and my daughter’s now famous pumpkin bread – not to mention all of the fun and fantastic fabric.  AND….ta da…..if you draw a red chip out of the bag, you just MIGHT win a door prize!

We had some absolutely GORGEOUS show and tell quilts today – you are going to be REALLY IMPRESSED….so here goes!!!

Day One of Tour de Quilt at Quilter’s Corner

The rain didn’t keep the quilters away today as the annual Tour de Quilt was launched.  We had such a lot of fun at Quilter’s Corner!  I thought the shop looked so nice and there was so much eye candy that I just had to post a few pictures.

I hope to see all of my Virginia friends at Quilter’s Corner during the next 3 days!  Trust me, you will love it – and we will feed you goodies too!

As a PREVIEW for what you will see, I took a few pictures of some of the quilt kits for sale, and some photos of the inside and outside of the shop!

ENJOY! And be sure to read the NEXT post because I took photos of all of the quilts that were brought in today made from the 2008 Tour de Quilt fabric!  You will love it!!!

The 2009 Quilt at Quilter’s Corner is SO NICE!  Here is shop owner, Susan, and designer of this year’s quilt (HOWEVER; I am not entirely sure,  but I am guessing that there is a GOOD POSSIBILITY that this may have been a joint effort with her business partner of SWIRLY GIRLS PATTERNS, Chris!)

It was SO MUCH FUN seeing all of the quilts that folks brought in that were made from last years Tour de Quilt fabrics.  What a lot of creativity.  I applaud these quilters…..!

I should have mentioned the creators of these quilts – but Ididnt’ get names!  But, isn’t this fun to see the variety of ways to take the same fabric and create vastly different outcomes!??
