Catherine and I met for a few hours today at the Powhatan Library for some serious work on our quilting projects (I am plugging away at bindings!) First we had a picnic and I learned about something NEW – LOVE IT. It is going to go on my LIST OF FAVORITE THINGS. Catherine brought frozen lemonade – Cherry Limeade and Strawberry Lemonade….DELISH! We both were delighted to learn that we like to PLAY WITH OUR FOOD….I made a neat tunnel all the way around my frozen delight! 🙂 Who would have thought that you could have a picnic smack dab in a conference room at a public library!!!!
I am so impressed with Catherine – she has only made 3 quilts – EVER – and she is going to quilt this one herself. Today she sandwiched the batting between the front and back of the quilt and she pinned it all together to get ready. I think her Bonnie K. Hunter SPIDER WEB QUILT is going to be gorgeous and I can’t wait to see how she ETTERIZES it! I am sure it will have some serious bling on it! STAY TUNED.
Catherine brought Max a traveling kitty kit – hopefully now Max can take us on a little trip – hint hint. She also brought me the cutest little basket – everyone knows how much I LOVE baskets. THANKS CATHERINE!

I finished the top of Ann Smith’s SUMMER MYSTERY 2009 quilt……well, I still need borders but I can’t decide what to do…..so I will take it to Quilter’s Corner tomorrow to get border advice. I think this is a pretty HAPPY QUILT…..Thanks Ann for the mystery.

I have also put together the blocks from Bonnie K. Hunter’s STAR STRUCK QUILT…….now it needs borders too!
But I am making progress on my UFO list! That feels good!

And I have also made some progress on my Bonnie K. Hunter CHRISTMAS LIGHTS MYSTERY. I am not so sure that I like the red that I chose, but hopefully it will blend in when it is all together! I seem to really love those dots!!!

Grandangel Sarah has made some good progress on her 2nd Cat and Fairy Quilt! She loved drawing and coloring the angels and cats (heat setting the color) and has really enjoyed using the fancy stitches on the RUNWAY BROTHER machine that I have. I think she may become a quilter yet!!! 🙂

Someone asked for the pattern for the Parosol Ladies Quilt that I took a picture of and included under the post SEW SEW DAY.

Marla's Parasol Ladies Quilt
I asked my friend Marla if she knew the pattern (her sister made this beautiful quilt for her) and Marla responded that this is the Parasol Ladies Quilt in the book “Granny Quilt Decor” by Darlene Zimmerman. The book “Hooked on Hankies” might be of interest if you wanted to make a quilt of girls using hankies!
If you make one, please share a picture!!!

Someone recently asked me the name of the needlework shop in Williamsburg – I had posted pictures of it when Marla and I visited there and we were both so impressed. WELL, Marla actually remembered the name of the shop and e-mailed me not only the name of the shop but a website too. Just this morning I actually found a picture of the sign that I took when we were there! Oh Dear, now seeing the pictures makes me want to go back and get something to stitch. 🙂 LOL

THANKS MARLA!
The needlework shop in The Village Shops at Kingsmill in Williamsburg is The Stitching Well at Haus Tirol – they have a web site http://www.haustirolonline.com/
