What is on my Design Wall, September 19, 2011

I have a LOT on my DESIGN FLOOR this week …. and actually my DESIGN FLOOR is getting packed into project boxes and is going on the road…..Thursday through Sunday is the Colonial Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild Retreat in Williamsburg and I am really looking forward to it!
SO HERE IS WHAT I WILL BE DOING
First – the Spiderweb Quilt needs to be sewn together. It is my UFO for September – so I am going to focus on this first!
Second – the Roll Roll Cotton Boll Jr. Quilt needs the final borders…..one pieced and another small blue outer border.
Third – the Chunky Churndash Quilt made from my parents’ shirts needs some more blocks.
Fourth – the Road to Brownwood Quilt needs binding.
Fifth – the Hugs and Kisses Quilt needs binding.
Sixth – the Hidden Pinwheels Quilt needs binding…. I am only showing a picture of one block!
Seventh – I need more Hexies for my Scrappy Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt.
Eighth….I need to cut out the first step of the WORMS AND JELLY ROLL MYSTERY QUILT. This will be made from greens – and even though this is my VERY LAST most favorite color I have somehow accumulated lots of bits and pieces of fabric… so I am going to make this mystery quilt as a charity quilt for the wildfire victims in Texas. AND…should you want to sew along on this Mystery Quilt, you can join the Quilter’s Club of America free right now……
Ninth – I plan to cut out and start on Bonnie Hunter’s Cheddar Challenge Quilt. I have no pictures yet – I just ordered the fabric from Hancock’s of Paducah Saturday…..will it get here in time???? In case you want to join this challenge – here is the link!

Tenth – I need to put on the outer border and make a piano keys border for my curved log cabin quilt.
Do you think this is too much? Well, I have to pack enough hand work just in case my sewing machine breaks. One time, while on retreat, my sewing machine broke – and a SECOND sewing machine that I had taken “just in case” also broke. So now I take enough hand work to keep me busy should I end up with NO SEWING MACHINE!!!
It is DEFINITELY A LOT! After looking at this post, I was so embarrassed by my APPARENT lack of ability to predict how much could be accomplished in 3 1/2 days that I didn’t even mention that I was taking a Halloween hand quilting project too……LOL.
And…….Catherine is expecting for there to be room in my car for her projects too! I may need to RETHINK this plan….:):)
You will see NEXT WEEK how much I really got done!
