Artworks DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING FESTIVAL

Posted By on November 27, 2010

Here  you go – the pictures from the gala event!  Everything about Catherine’s table/display area was so professional and beautiful!  Take a look!

The show was from 10 am until 10 pm  and so we had lots of time to enjoy the friends who dropped by (I TOOK PICTURES) and the live music …….and the food in the PLANT ZERO CAFE was good.  It was, however, just a tad bit embarrassing when I ordered VEGETABLE MAYONAISE for Catherine’s sandwich – BUT JUST LOOK AT THE CARD WHERE SHE WROTE HER ORDER!  🙂

Hey we had some good laughs here and there – and I put the QUOTE OF THE DAY ON A SPECIAL CARD TO REMEMBER!  Remember to click twice on a picture to see the entire photo!

I hope you enjoy the pictures – I enjoyed the day immensely!

Deviled Eggs

Posted By on November 23, 2010

Every time we have ANY KIND of a special event or dinner, Grandangel Sarah requests deviled eggs.  AND we now have a new tradition.  BEFORE the special event or dinner we have to make a PRACTICE batch……….

SO tonight we made a dozen deviled eggs – or 24 halves!  My SIL, Greg, had a bright idea.  He wanted BACON in his deviled eggs!  And….so did Sarah!  So we tested that concept.  Tonight we made half of the eggs with bacon and half without.

EVERYONE LOVED THEM and there are not too many left……..look at this picture – only 9 of 24 and before I even got this posted the 9 turned into 6!  DH Max likes them BETTER than the traditional deviled eggs and I think SIL Greg does too.

SIL Greg and Grandangel Sarah are HAPPY EGG EATERS!

SAO and SARAH’s BACON DEVILED EGGS

Boil 12 eggs and then REFRIGERATE (easier to shell that way)

Remove the shells and cut the eggs in half lengthwise

Mash the YOLKS (grandangels like to do this part!)

Mix mayo, dijon mustard, garlic salt and pepper

(I just do this until Sarah tells me it tastes right…..this is a creative non-measurement recipe!)

Add the mayo mixture to the mashed yolks

Sprinkle in REAL BACON BITS

Fill the whites of the eggs

Refrigerate………and cover if there are any left!!!!

ARTWORKS HERE WE COME

Posted By on November 23, 2010

Today I helped Catherine set up her table for the ARTWORKS Day After Thanksgiving Festival!  It is really going to be fun – music from a live band, food, art displays and demos!

Catherine got a FANTASTIC SPOT right by the door and I snapped some pictures (surprised?) as we were setting up.  OK – so I must explain this ONE picture – it is of Catherine lying on the floor under the table!  We were BOTH under the table trying to tape on a VERY IMPORTANT SUPPORT that fell off.  I said, “Self, this is a perfect photo op…..and my SELF agreed.”  SO, I took the picture.  It is pretty dark, but it was ever so funny.  MAYBE YOU HAD TO BE THERE!

There are LOTS of great things on Catherine’s table and we have more to bring in tomorrow and Friday.  YOU JUST HAVE TO COME SEE FOR YOURSELF.  Catherine does such a good job when it comes to presenting things.  The table covering, the antique dress maker form, the special ONE-OF-A-KIND tree (made by Catherine) – it is all EYE CANDY!!!!!

See you on Friday – the day AFTER Thanksgiving – 10 am – 10 pm at ARTWORKS…..5th and Hull!

ENJOY THE PICTURES!  Oh yes, and the one where Catherine is biting the merchandise might be perplexing.  She had a difficult time unpacking her Christmas Bells!  :):)

RRCB Jr, Happy Spools and Eleanor Burns Quilt #2

Posted By on November 22, 2010

OH MY GOODNESS – this is hard to believe – even for me – but my Clue #1 for Bonnie Hunter’s Roll Roll Cotton Boll Mystery multiplied during the night.

Just look – RRCB #1 is raspberry and blue – and it looks like RRCB Junior is pink and blue.  What can I say?  LOL  🙂

And remember my Eleanor Burns Quilt #1 top that I was lamenting about because I thought it needed a more exciting name (and it did!)

Scroll down to my earlier post and you will see Eleanor Burns Quilt #1 that now has the name of HAPPY SPOOLS – thanks to Judy C of NC for the name – LOVE IT.

OH WELL, nevermind – that is too much trouble – here it is Eleanor Burns Quilt #1 now HAPPY SPOOLS – and doesn’t it LOOK happy?!!!

OK – so now here is Eleanor Burns Quilt #2 – and it also NEEDS a name!  Hint Hint…..

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!
