SEW SEW DAY May 24, 2010

Posted By on May 24, 2010

Catherine and I had a great SEW SEW DAY today………and I LEARNED NOT ONE – BUT TWO new things….how cool is that…..I absolutely love learning how to do new things.

OK – first we had an ATC REVIEW – LOVE THESE – thanks everyone from the Quilting Adventures ATC group!  The ATCs this month are so amazing.  I am awed by the talent that abounds in this group.

Then I made my FIRST NECKLACE with actual knotting between beads.  WOW.  That was just lots and lots of fun and my grandangel, Sarah, liked it so much that she wanted it!!!  Catherine made one too – so now we have twin necklaces.  I can’t wait to do more.  I think I have been bitten by the jewelry making bug.  It is also fun to be able to finish something that you begin and ON THE SAME DAY!

And if that were not enough fun *although can anyone ever have TOO MUCH FUN* Catherine is teaching me how to make a tote by wrapping fabric around cord…..pictures of that will be coming soon.

ENJOY THE PICTURES and THANKS CATHERINE for the private lessons!  whoo hoooo!

PLEASE DO NOT TEXT WHILE DRIVING

TEXT WHILE DRIVING?

My cousin sent this to me…….I had to share it – it is really a good reminder NOT TO TEXT AND DRIVE!  I hope my driving GRANDANGELS all read and heed!

ONE MORE THING

If you know me,  you know that I like to have NEW EXPERIENCES.  I love NEW THINGS.  Now, I know this is pretty weird, but I ate a dog biscuit (after carefully assessing that the ingredients in it were all people stuff!)  It was from TRADER JOES – and it was actually pretty good.

Edible Dog Biscuits

I am serious, it was really OK – just like a molasses cookie without any sugar – although I must say I could not detect the peanut butter taste.  Now I am really going to be embarrassed if this endorsement turns up on a dog food commercial some day.  LOL  🙂

ATC – CELEBRATES BASKETS

My ATCs  for this month went to the meeting WITHOUT ME – thanks Catherine.  The theme was BASKETS and since I love MAY DAY I made May Day Baskets.  I love May Day so much that I had a baby on that day – son Rob!!  🙂

May ATC - Back

Scrappy Chiclet and PARTIALLY SCRAPPY BACK for  my Scrappy Chiclet

I took this to Sara Thursday – my last errand before I tried to fly.

Flying is ONLY FOR BIRDS – REALLY – Trust Me!

I tired to fly down the stairs on Thursday – just feeling chipper because I got the soft cast off my arm (the dog tripped me) and in order to avoid falling, I tripped over a chair!

Arm is ALL BETTER - cast off!

So for all of us who debate over what hurts more a break or a sprain, whichever side you are on, I win.  I have both – a break and a sprain.  Well, if you are going to do something, I always say, do your best job!  I did.

Broken Ankle - Sprained Ankle

But none of this keep me from celebrating my anniversary with my dh, Max…..

Max and sao celebrating Anniverary

…..and yes I did have a margarita!  I wanted it….I needed it…..I worked hard for it……and I will do it again next year with or without an excuse…..LOL

Leanna got her ears pierced!  This represents the ultimate act of bravery for someone who is terrified of needles!

North Kansas City High School has a Website

Posted By on May 17, 2010

What a small world it has become now that we have the internet.  How about a short trip down memory lane?

My HIGH SCHOOL now has a website.  If you are curious go to www.northkansascityhighschool.com  And now I am curious – who in my family graduated from NKC HS?  I know some of us (not me) went to the new high school.

Is it true that the McElroy Dagg building has been torn down?  OH NO!  I’ll bet the public swimming pool next door is gone too.

I can just hear this song now…..

picture sao playing the flute in the marching band…..
