HAPPY BIRTHDAY #14 Leanna April 16, 2010

Leanna is turning 14 on April 16………she truly is an angel too!  Can’t believe she will be in HIGH SCHOOL next year.  Leanna is just perfect – and I am NOT BIASED AT ALL….LOL.  She is funny, smart, and loves to be in plays!

OK – so I have a picture to share!!!  This is Leanna on her FIRST BIRTHDAY – I think she looks like one of the PRECIOUS MOMENTS DOLLS!

And here is Nanna Banana, my grown up Precious Moments Doll,  after we recently went to see WICKED!

HAPPY 67th ANNIVERSARY April 17, 2010 to my parents, JB and Marjorie Albertson…….

AND THE VERY NEXT DAY MY PARENTS ARE CELEBRATING THEIR 67th WEDDING ANNIVERSARY – and this is a REALLY REALLY REALLY SPECIAL THING!  HAPPY ANNIVERSARY APRIL 17….

Here they are cutting their wedding cake in 1943…………and TA DA…….here they are in January, 2010 after moving into their brand new home!  Lucky for me and my three brothers that they met!!!!    I hear that my mother got my father’s attention at a WWII dance by saying, “YOU HAVEN’T BEEN DRINKING OUT OF THAT WATER FOUNTAIN, HAVE YOU?  HAVEN’T YOU HEARD WHAT PEOPLE ARE GETTING OUT OF THAT FOUNTAIN?”  Then she told him…….”WATER.”  She got his attention!!!

With four grown up kids!

Happy Birthday to my brother Jim, April 18, 2010

And my brother, Jim has a birthday on April 18…..I don’t think it is polite to mention ages……..but age is a state of mind and I am sure that he will be young forever.

Here is a picture of JIMMY THE TURD (I couldn’t pronounce JIMMY THE THIRD and so this is what my 3 year old SELF told people my brother’s name was!)

And here is Jim now (well on his birthday in 2009)…….the one in the yellow shirt.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIM.

Happy Birthday #16 to Grandangel Caden, April 21, 2010

Grandangel Caden will be 16 on April 21…….driving kind of 16……what a special birthday!  UNBELIEVABLE!  Caden has to be one of the sweetest 16 year olds  that ever lived on this earth.  He is kind and smart and funny (a terrific athlete) – and he eats the crazy things that I make……

One time he ate TWO of my breakfast specials……..I know you are dying to know so here is the recipe:  in a tall container layer the following…..CHEERIOS, BLUEBERRIES, CORNFLAKES, STRAWBERRIES, FILL  WITH ORANGE JUICE AND THEN ADD WHIPPED CREAM, CHOCOLATE SYRUP…..yum.

Catherine’s UPCOMING Classes

Posted By on March 28, 2010

Catherine is sharing her talent – I just had to share some of her upcoming classes at Quilting Adventures.  I am taking the Wild and Wooly class – can’t wait to learn to weave fibers…..hope to see you in the class!

Wild and Wooly Bag - WOVEN FIBERS!

This bag is adorable – it has a magnetic opening and opens up into a fold out sewing box.  It is sooooooo cute!

sewing Supply Bag

Isn’t this cute – large enough for your cell phone, sunglasses and other beach needs!

Locker Hooking Bag

I wish SOMEONE would get Catherine to teach a jewelry making class – she mixes media and could use fabric, buttons and just about ANYTHING in her jewelry!  Look what she wore today!

ATC WIND AND KITES Exchange March, 2010

Posted By on March 28, 2010

Have any of you out there ever been TRULY EMBARRASSED?  REALLY REALLY STOMACH CHURNING EMBARRASSED?

Well, that describes ME today at my first ever ATC (Artist Trading Cards) exchange at Quilting Adventures where I brought in cards to exchange.  (The only time I have ever been more embarrassed was when I landed on a man’s head at the Crystal Cathedral *in California*  while being a flying angel during the GLORY OF EASTER PAGEANT! )  I was mortified – mean it!

Our ATC theme for March was wind and kites.  OH MY – the talent was so inspiring – and then there were my cards.  Do you really want to know how I felt – well imagine this – you are taking a page out of your coloring book and presenting it at a meeting where famous artists are revealing their most recent masterpieces.  Not only are you presenting a coloring book page – but your coloring is wonky and you spilled glue on the page and it is wrinkled and warped!!  OK – so I guess I will live and hopefully I will improve with time and practice!

I hope you enjoy the pictures…..and by the way……I did have a great time!!!  🙂  I sure wish someone out there would join this group who does not have stellar talent – I need someone to stand with me at the lower end of the talent curve!  LOL  🙂

ONLY ONE BAD THING HAPPENED IN LANCASTER AND A QVC COMMERCIAL!

Posted By on March 26, 2010

You will not believe this,  but Catherine and Margaret crossed the street in Intercourse, PA…..actually they  jay-walked right in the middle of town!!!!

I, on the other hand, was cautiously standing on the side of the road waiting for the cars and horses and buggies to pass so that it would be safe to cross.  And you won’t believe what happened.

A CAR STOPPED AND WAITED FOR ME TO CROSS.  I was amazed and dumb struck – and I froze and just stood there.  A car stopped to let me jaywalk!  HOW INCREDIBLY NICE!  I couldn’t help but notice that PA drivers tend to HONK their horns a lot…..don’t know why – so this unexpected random act of kindness on the driver’s part was a great surprise…….

Except he told Catherine, in sign language…..get that “LAST IDIOT ACROSS THE STREET.”  LOL.  🙂  Here is Catherine telling me the tale!

Catherine couldn't believe what that man said!!!

OK – so now for my QVC COMMERICAL – I got an AEROBED from QVC…..a bed in a rolling bag.  It is wonderful.  I demonstrated just how wonderful to my roommates Catherine and Margaret.  All I did was plug it in and my bed appeared right before all of our eyes!  JUST LOOK!!!  (AND FYI the pink sheets are from NORTHERN NIGHTS – QVC too! )  I am a QVC FAN, in case you hadn’t noticed!

Look the bed is inflating!!!!! ALL BY ITSELF!

TA DA - my bed!!!!
