PHYSICAL THERAPY SONG FOR HANDS

Posted By on January 26, 2008

My mother recently broke her arm.  The cast is off, but after weeks and weeks of disuse, a person tends to protect the injured member and avoid using it (I.E. it is stiff and it hurts.)  To help my mother REMEMBER to use her fingers, I made up this song.

TO THE TUNE OF IF YOU ARE HAPPY AND YOU KNOW IT CLAP YOUR HANDS.

If you’re typing or you’re wiping (your nose), use your (left) hand

If you’re brushing or you’re flushing use your hand

If you’re sitting or just spitting, it really is so fitting

If you’re eating – I’m REPEATING – use your hand!

Silly, you say?  Perhaps – we will see if it works!  Sometimes silly produces smiles – that leads to motivation – that leads to healing!  If the physical therapy song doesn’t help her arm, maybe it will help her spirits.

A MERRY HEART DOETH GOOD – LIKE MEDICINE.

That is my mantra!
