Richmond Quilter’s Guild 2008 Quilt Show

This year the Richmond Quilter’s Guild had their 2008 Quilt Show at the Cultural Center of India. It was so much fun. There were rows and rows of beautiful quilts – Marla and I both spent a lot of time today gasping in awe. I took a few pictures of my favorites! Remember to click on the pictures to see the full views!
It was fun to see the beautiful piecing and quilting – a lot of inspiration for sure! It was wonderful to see Valerie of A NEEDLE RUNS THROUGH IT (and we noticed that a lot of the quilts on display today were ones that she had quilted!) It was just great to see Kresha from JO JO’s QUILT SHOP. She is such a nice person!! Caroline was also there with her beautiful vintage sewing machines quilt.
I loved the vendors too – and just had to bring home a darling little Shaker Tray – just had to!!!!! A few fat quarters from the GUILT MAN booth caught my eye too!
What a beautiful day too! I love fall – the gorgeous trees and the perfect weather were a great backdrop for a fantastic quilt show!
When you look at the pictures below be sure to notice several scrappy quilts designed by Augusta Cole and there are a few applique quilts designed by Karen DuMont. The ones that had quilt blocks made by children in kindergarten were precious too. One of the best t-shirts that I have ever seen was there – all of the blocks were from Harley Davidson shirts! Notice the basket quilt made from old vintage hankerchiefs too!
