Sit and Stitch and Richmond Modern Quilt Guild
Posted By drsao on June 19, 2011
Friday was packed with LOTS of GIGGLES…I don’t know what got into us…..but it felt good. First we had SIT AND STITCH and then we had a RICHMOND MODERN QUILT GUILD meeting.
Here are some highlights of our creativity. This is Catherine’s postcard……she cut out “A NEW SONG” from the pages of a Jan Karon book….now that is creative. I love this postcard….and I am wishing and hoping that I just HAPPEN to get this one in the postcard exchange! WISH WISH WISH
Ginger was inspired by the NY exhibit of Red and White quilts and so she has been designing her own….I really like this!!!
This is REALLY stunning – love this hexagon quilt *another one by Ginger.
Ginger doesn’t do paper piecing….she stamps the cutting and sewing line…..pretty innovative!!!!!
Look at this CANDLE MAT…….Catherine made her hexagons scrappy – so cute…..she left the papers in and the back is so cute!
AND YEAH YEAH – binding three quilts was on my DESIGN WALL this week – and here is the first one FINISHED!
AND YEAH YEAH YEAH – here is the second quilt bound………Posies and Pinwheels……..a Powhatan Quilter’s Mystery Quilt hosted by Karen Murray. She quilted both of my quilts too.
Cathy dropped in and brought her quilt. I am seriously enamored with this quilt…….in fact, I hope I can find the pattern so I can make one. Isn’t this a fabulous SCRAPPY QUILT???? Love all of the appliqued leaves!!!!
I really like Pam’s Clubhouse Quilt too!
Catherine’s bracelet made me smile…………..beautiful!!!!
Catherine also made a SECOND NAME TAG…..now that is impressive *and you will notice that there is NO PICTURE of the ONE NAME TAG that I made! LOL
I am TRULY sorry that I am posting a picture of a VERY NICE PERSON with her eyes closed…..but this is the only picture that I have of her name tag and it is awesome…….really!
Doreen is leading a focus group for those quilters interesting in making small quilts…..here is one of her samples….VERY NICE!
Here is another of Doreen’s small quilts….
I am sorry that I missed the Susan and Chris (SWIRLY GIRLS) trunk show……but before I left for the SWIM MEET I snapped a picture of the TREASURES……I know it was a great TRUNK SHOW!
