I have a couple of things on my Design Floor this week.
First I am working on my 2012 Free Motion Quilting Challenge for February – FEATHERS….
Another Attempt at Feathers
This isn’t wonderful – but it is WAY BETTER than my first attempt which looked a lot like FERN LEAVES! Not only did they look a lot like FERN LEAVES – they did not look anything like feathers. I don’t know what possessed me! 🙂

OK – so I am NOT GIVING UP YET…..after all – it is only February of the 2012 Challenge….but I am beginning to think that I should PAY someone else to do my quilting!
Rolling Along – Judy Laquidara’s January Quilt of Valor Pattern is also on my Design Floor. I now have all of my blocks made. My Block #2 (the red center with the black and white fabric) is a slight variation on Judy’s pattern – my blacks go outward from the center block on all four corners……why? Don’t ask!

As we speak, I am packing for my annual BEACH QUILT CAMP in North Carolina and I have lots of projects ready to go (I think that I might have delusions of grandeur!) …….so next Monday I might have A MULTITUDE OF THINGS on my Design Floor (one can only hope!)

I love, love, love it – “Don’t Ask” I would not insult you by asking … hee, hee, hee. . Your quilt is so wonderful and unique, Shirley. Have a wonderful retreat – sounds like a fun time. Judy C
That’s right don’t give up on the feathers, you CAN do it. I had to draw them about 60 times on paper before I could get anything that resembled a feather. Keep trying it will come, I promise! You’re quilt is beautiful. You have such a way with putting colors together.
