Is this a cool cake, or what?
It was PARTY TIME in Midlothian, VA this afternoon – and I mean PARTY with a capital P. Get a bunch of kindergarteners together in the vicinity of bouncy houses and other jumping apparatii – and you have yourself some MAJOR EXCITEMENT.

Cooper's Party Bags
After bouncing for over an hour – I skipped this part because bouncing SCARES ME!!!!! – it was time for pizza and giggles….and then the BEST PART….cake and presents!

PIZZA TIME
I must mention that the kids were disappointed when I came in WITHOUT Mr. Clicker – so Leanna went out to the car to bring him into the party (Mr. Clicker is my “bell” at school!)

All of the kids wanted to see MR. CLICKER
Mr. Clicker was glad that he got to come in and conduct a math lesson (addition) and then he got to see the kids eat cake and open presents.

CARS on the cake - of course!!!!
Ok – so about the cake. I don’t think that I saw too many people eat their cake…..the way normal people do. No – they were way too cool and creative for that. Some ate only the icing……some ate only the cake……..some ate the icing first and then the cake…….some ate the cake first and then ate the icing…….and some didn’t like cake at all! TOO FUNNY!

CAKE Time

Present time is the best!
Here are some funny and cute shots of Cooper with his friends at present time…..Nathan – with the beanie hat just cracked-me up!!!!

Cute!

Poor Cooper!

awwwwww

YEAH JAKE!

Thanks Zach

And it looks like Mr. Clicker got into this picture too – Sarah is holding him….LOL 🙂
AND….finally this picture of Cooper and his OLD PRESCHOOL FRIENDS just has to be a prize winner…..look at those smiles…..that is going to make my heart smile for quite awhile! :):) Jake, Cooper and Zach – OLD BUDDIES!

Friends since pre-school - love those smiles!

Tonight was just WONDERFUL – well, all day actually. Sarah performed in two shows today – I got to watch one and help dress Sarah in another. We got to put on make up, curl hair, put on pretty costumes…..it was just all TOOOOOO MUCH FUN!
Here is Sarah in her Irish Costume…and again in her Tap Costume………she just looks so grown up! She is only 9!!!

Here are a few highlights of our getting ready fun…..and our celebration! Sarah had her own stage crew – her mom did the makeup and Grandma Shirley was in charge of the curls. One of us stayed backstage with her to help her dress for each show. It was great making memories like this that will stay in our hearts forever.

Brother Cooper is so POSITIVE – when he went to bed tonight he said “NICE DANCING SARAH” and to his other sister, “NICE SITTING LEANNA!”

Colonial Piecemaker's JUNE BUG
I didn’t have much free time this week – but I did manage to do my block for the Williamsburg Guild – Colonial Piecemaker’s for tomorrow. This is my JUNE BUG BLOCK……everyone that makes a block gets a chance to win all of the blocks.

- Unit 3 Half Square Triangles
I said that I wasn’t going to start anything new for awhile – but when Bonnie K. Hunter has a mystery quilt – I am THERE…..no ifs, ands, or buts…..I am there. I love what she designs and I have made all of her mystery quilts so far – so there is no stopping me now. Here is what I did on her Christmas Lights Mystery. Above are the Unit 3 patches and below are the Units 1 and 2.

52 Four Patches - Unit 1

Unit 2 Half Square Triangles
I made my 30’s Club Piece N Plenty Block and fillers for this month!

I made the BACK for Joey’s Forever Plaid Quilt….

And that was it – I was so busy every night this week!
And one more thing – I have had a request for a full picture of the FRIENDSHIP TIED UP WITH BOWTIES QUILT that I made for Catherine – and actually it isn’t finished yet because I had the NERVE to ask her to make it pretty by embellishing it….that is what you call a true TEAMWORK FRIENDSHIP QUILT! LOL. 🙂

After work this week, Marla picked me up and we went to pick up our Moss Prints – I thought it was REALLY INTERESTING to see the same print in different mat/frame scenarios. We both had our P. Buckley Moss prints “FUN WITH MOM” done at Sanders!
Mine is plain – white mat with black frame – and Marla’s is elegant with a black mat and silver embellished frame. I like both!

Fun with Mom - sao and Marla
And Marla picked up some others that she had left to be framed – I am sorry that I can’t provide the names – but I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ONE!

One of my FAVORITE MOSS prints
And this one with the cats and the pumpkins – oh do I ever love it!!!!

Companion Pumpkin piece
And she got a beautiful quilt print back too!

Quilters - just love this!
We celebrated getting our prints (mine was my Christmas present from DH, Max) by eating at Halfway House. I just LOVE this place – the history – it just makes me FEEL like I can almost hear a stagecoach pulling up outside. And the kitchen is still in an outside house. It is just the most cozy place ever. And, Marla will vouch for the fact that they have the best peanut butter pie ever! The gave us HOT FRESH CINNAMON BUNS while we waited for our lunch – and we didn’t mind the wait at all! Do you know why this place is on my LIST OF FAVORITE THINGS!?

My Lunch - isn't it pretty?Marla had the almond chicken salad platter too!
