SAO’S 2012 UFO REPORT AKA What is on my Design Floor but will be ignored!

This blog post is mostly for myself – a self accounting of all the wonderful things that I have started and have on my TO DO LIST for 2012.
I thought that it would be FUN to look at my UNFINISHED QUILT OBJECTS for 2012 to see what kind of headway that I have made this year! I know that it isn’t the END OF 2012 yet – but next month Bonnie K. Hunter will begin her 2012 MYSTERY QUILT ADVENTURE – called EASY STREET….and I will be making TWO OF THESE. Then I noticed that Quilters Club of America is starting a NEW MYSTERY TODAY called Nana’s Surprise – and I HAVE TO MAKE THAT ONE because one of my grandangels (Leanna) has the nickname of Nanna! SIGH …..SMILE.
I wish that starting things wasn’t so much fun! But it is fun and SO everything on this 2012 UFO list that isn’t already finished will just have to wait until 2013 OR BEYOND to be completed.
THE GOOD THING IS THAT I USUALLY end up finishing what I start…..it just sometimes takes awhile. I got a wonderful idea from my Swirly Girl friend, Susan. She has a category…….NEVER WILL FINISH. I just may put some things into this category – it sounds so much more intentional and artful than just calling them ABANDONED QUILTS. SO…….here goes my VERY PUBLIC investigation of my 2012 UNFINISHED QUILTS.

A lot of my quilts are donated. When someone in my family passes, I like to donate a quilt in lieu of flowers. So, for my own records I have also made these notes below.

This one has a good home on my cousin Janie Albertson’s bed!

I hand quilted this one – and made a hanging sleeve out of the sleeves from one of my Daddy’s shirts! I used a BROOM AS A QUILT HOLDER and hung it like this for Halloween!
I need to find an antique broom to use for next year! This bright yellow one just isn’t right!!!!
I was LOL (trying to be silent) as I watched my daughter frantically searching for her broom so that she could sweep! She never did find it on her own – but my guilt made me confess!)
