sao 2008 Birth of a Sampler Quilt

I did it, I finished the February assignment (and there are still five days left in February) for the Birth of a Sampler Quilt class that I am taking at The Quilter’s Corner in Midlothian, VA.  I started this in November, 2007 – and will be completing another ROUND at each monthly class.  The quilt was designed by Sherry Whitford and she is the instructor for the class as well.   Here it is……I am loving it so far!  The last round is comprised of 1 1/2″ squares……I can’t wait to see the quilt.  I have made modifications already – the round surrounding the middle star was supposed to be flying geese…..but I made my geese into diamonds (as I mentioned before, I am not the BEST person when it comes to following directions or recipes!)   It is nice to be able to make the quilt AS-YOU-GO, a little bit at a time.  And at the end, there won’t be a lot of blocks to join!  I can just stand back and utter…..TA DA!  🙂  Sherry Whitford is a wonderful teacher too.  LOVE HER!
