Halfway House and Quilty News

Posted By on February 10, 2009

What a day – Marla and I had a fantastic tour of a Virginian Plantation – Magnolia Grange – and we made a trip to JO JO’s Quilt shop to find some flannel fabric and be inspired by the quilts in the shop!  We also picked up our Moss Prints – and if that wasn’t WONDERFUL ENOUGH for one day, we had lunch at Halfway House.  Oh the wonderful feeling of sitting in front of an open fire knowing that historical figures (like Thomas Jefferson) might have sat at our very table while traveling on important missions.  I love the Halfway House – the atmosphere is magical and the food is fantastic.  It was all good!  Marla would have been just a TAD BIT happier if the peanut butter pie would have still been on the menu.  🙂

This really is one of my very favorite restaurants…..I guess it was known as a tavern in days gone by!

Just a couple of more things – I just adore my little chicken block and the cherry blocks that will go into the Chickens, Cherries, and Checks Quilt – they are SO CUTE.

I also finished my A Tisket A Tasket Bunny Hill BOM for February – and  my Powhatan Quilters Mystery Quilt is coming along too – love the 30’s Pinwheel Blocks!

There is never a dull moment in sao land!
