Quilty SHOW AND TELL in Midlothian 4 18 09

Posted By on April 18, 2009

Today was an absolutely beautiful, gorgeous, sunshiny, perfect day.  A great chance to  stay inside with Midlothian friends and quilt – –  and think about the yard work that I will do TOMORROW!!!!!  🙂  The company was great and the show and tells were just wonderful.  The pictures are a bit compromised because of the bright sunlight, but I think you will get the picture.

I got some great close-ups of Catherine’s first quilt though!  I was even more impressed than I was the first time that I saw it.  She did some pretty fancy stitching.  The back of her quilt is fabulous.

I brought my OLD VIRGINIA ROAD Show and Tell – all finished except sewing the binding down!  I also worked on my IF I WERE A FLOWER CHALLENGE – and Catherine helped with some great embellishment ideas – she also taught me how to make a surgeon’s knot – pretty cool.  The pictures will be coming later after the big REVEAL at Country Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild in May!

Thanks to Bill (Sheddy’s DH) for letting us see the wonderful quilts.  His grandmother – oh dear, I think it might have been his great-grandmother – or his grandmother who was great made him a wonderful quilt!  Over the years the binding became worn, so he reproduced the quilt – and HAND QUILTED IT!  Pretty impressive!

Enjoy the pictures.
