What I have been doing – Quilty Stuff
Posted By drsao on July 7, 2009
I have been on a binding marathon and finally I have FINISHED FIVE baby quilts to give to the Country Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild on Saturday to donate to the babies in the ICU unit. AND ONE OF THEM I QUILTED MYSELF – my first one ever and it is NOT GOOD – but I did my best – and I guess everyone has to have a first one. Hopefully the baby who gets it will not care. 🙂 Sara quilted the Baby Bears Pinks, the Baby Bears Blue, the Fabricaholics Jan. 09 Mystery (Star Struck) and the Giraffe and Friends quilts and they ARE ALL GOOD. I quilted the Premier Nine-Patch – I named it PREMIER because it is my premier quilting job.
These quilts were all made with a lot of help from four of my cats – and yes the quilts will be washed before going to the hospital!
I also made a label for my nephew Joey’s FOREVER PLAID QUILT – and I made my MODA SELVAGES 09 Blocks and Filler for July. My filler block is unique because I used some tiny nine-patches that I had leftover from earlier months. 🙂
You sure have been busy. Glad you liked Charlottesville. Did you know I lived there for 24 years before moving to Richmond? How were the prices at Mr. Hanks? I taught a class at the guild here last night. I’ll have several charity quilts when I get back, since I had to make several in stages for the class. Tomorrow is Holy Thursday. Yippee!
