Quilty ICU Donations and BOM February 2, 2011

Posted By on February 2, 2011

The Country Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild, that I belong to,  makes baby quilts for the wee ones who come into the world and must be in ICU.  I hope some little babies somewhere enjoy the three quilts that I made….

This one was designed by Ann Smith and presented as the 2009 New Year’s Eve Mystery.  I love doing the mystery quilts with my online friends and these are the quilts that I donate.  I am not a big fan of butterflies – but I think this one turned out pretty cute!

Raising Cane - Dorothy Young Design

The red, white and black one is another Mystery Quilt – Raising Cane by Dorothy Young.  When babies are first born they LOVE TO LOOK at black and white – so this should keep some little person entertained!

The final ICU quilt is my 30’s Basket Weave Quilt.  When my niece, Amanda,  and her husband had a baby last year they did not find out the gender of the baby beforehand.  SO……because I wanted to be ready with a baby quilt I made one for a boy and one for a girl.  This one would have been for the girl *but the boy quilt got sent!!!!

I also finished my first block for the Colonial Piecemaker’s Block of the Month.  Here is January!

Colonial Piecemaker's BOM - January

I got  the Colonial Piecemaker’s orange and white challenge quilt together too….but SHHHHHH…..the big unveil is in September.  It is SO HARD not to show the picture!  BUT…I will wait and not spoil the surprise…(for a little while at least!)

The ICU will be very lucky to have these three quilts. They are grand. I sure wish I could have seen the orange and white challenge quilt but understand others may see it. Good for you getting it done and not putting it off. Is your BOM going to be all red and white? Our groundhog, Sir Walter Wally, did see his shadow so hopefully jonquils are not far behind for us.
