SHOW AND TELL – RMQG – May 2011

Posted By on May 22, 2011

There were so many wonderful SHOW AND TELLS at our Richmond Modern Quilt Guild Meeting last night.

We even had some interesting discussion about the pros and cons of using  FRICTION PENS (write on fabric – apply an iron – and VOILA, the INK MAGICALLY DISAPPEARS!)   However, if you use the pen to mark a quilting design on your quilt – and then the quilt gets cold –  the ink might REAPPEAR.

SO – we actually did an experiment – and put a piece of fabric (that had been marked on with the friction pens)  in the FREEZER.  Yes, the ink did reappear.  SO the conclusion is DO NOT PUT YOUR QUILTS IN THE FREEZER if you have used a friction pen to mark on it !  🙂  Now, no one can say we quilters don’t have fun!  I am glad Emily brought in these pens to show us how they work!

I hope you enjoy the show and tells!  (I just had to include a picture of Vonnie and her SPECIAL MICHE BAG too!  Love it!  WANT ONE!  I just might have to have a MICHE PARTY!)

I hope you enjoy the SHOW AND TELLS!

Wonderful pictures of the “charter member’s” and their projects – Catherine is the most inspirational and wonderful fearless leader ever. I need one of those name badges real bad – prettiest one I have seen. Do you think she would share the concept? BTW – did you ever get the 100 Blocks magazine? I have one for you if you haven’t picked one up yet. Judy C sends her very best.
