What is on my Design Wall, July 19, 2011

My DESIGN FLOOR  is in Kansas City this week……..I made my FIRST  flower in my new GRANDMOTHER’S FLOWER GARDEN QUILT…  I have been wanting to make a SCRAPPY one for ages but couldn’t quite decide how I wanted to do it.  SO, I have now DECIDED and I am really LIKING THIS.  So, this shall be my project of the week!

Scrappy Hexagons - FLOWER #1

What do you think?

SIX ROUNDS OF HEXAGONS….kind of makes your fingers sore…..but I think it is worth it!

Go to Judy Laquidara’s blog to see what quilters across the country are working on this week (www.patchworktimes.com)

AND…..while we are on the topic of quilts…..two of my quilts found new homes this week.

Brother Dan got a retirement quilt……BROWN BAG BLOCK PARTY!  He likes it!

Brother Jim got the JB TAKES A WIFE QUILT #1  as a prize for having heart surgery and being good!  His precious grandangel, Tara is standing beside him!

I just love HAPPY ENDINGS – retirement celebration, successful heart surgery – and good homes for my quilts!

Here we are – one daddy, one daughter, and three sons!  🙂

Fantastic photos of happy family times! Lucky brothers 🙂 I have three brothers too, only one hasn’t gotten his quilt yet.

What a nice family and retirement party. I love to see photos of someone wrapped in a quilt that they were given as a gift…true appreciation! I love your GFG idea. I have a bag of “odd hexagons” that didn’t go into flowers. I like your idea!

You make me smile, Shirley! I especially love your GFG (you knew I would)!
