What’s on my Design Wall August 9, 2011

Posted By on August 7, 2011

I will be launching myself toward the West Coast (CALIFORNIA) shortly so part of the DESIGN WALL (DESIGN FLOOR – AIRPORT SCENE) will be hexagon production.  I am going full strong on my SCRAPPY VERSION OF GRANDMOTHER’S FLOWER GARDEN…..remember this?

I am thinking of putting a border on this one similar to this one (I got this online from My Sunshine Cottage and I really really like it!)

GMG with BORDER

Before I am launched into the skies I may make a few more bean bags…..I am enamored with the Bal A Vis X program and need some bean bags for school!    GOOGLE BAL A VIS X if you haven’t heard of this….it is a great RIGHT BRAIN LEFT BRAIN program  – and fun for KIDS OF ALL AGES!

And TA DA….this is something new I am playing with….not sure where I am going or what I will call it – but it uses my 1 1/2 inch squares.  Scrappy Postage Stamps seems a little boring for a name of a quilt…..but that is what I have so far!!!

Have fun sewing everyone!

Love the hexie’s – I think you are awesome to take on a grandmother’s flower garden.

Lucky Sevens – what I immediately thought of for your postage stamp quilt and happens to be my lucky number.

Enjoy your trip – I know you will stay busy. Judy C in NC where I am sure the humdidity went to 1000% this weekend.

Judy – I like it – LUCKY SEVENS – because that is my lucky number too. If I decide to make all the blocks with shades of blue I could then call it MY LUCKY BLUE SEVENS!! 🙂

  3. Your hexies are great. I love hexies and are perfect to take a long. We’ve had lots of family things and quick trip over the last few weeks so my hexies are getting some attention too.

  4. Great scrap buster block!

Have a great trip Shirley Anne. I wish I was going with you. Love the hexies but way more than I want to do! I look forward to seeing the finished product. I agree about the border… nifty.

Hexagons – I am seeing more and more hexagons and I think this means they will soon be in my quilting! YIKES – something else to do!

I love the flower gardens that have the same center and that winding path, so charming. Have a great trip to CA!
