What is on my DESIGN FLOOR, Monday, April 2, 2012

Posted By on April 2, 2012

This week I am BINDING Jannae’s Art Quilt.  My grandangel is now 8 years old but she drew the blocks for her quilt when she was 5 and 6 years old.  She colored her blocks using crayons and then the blocks were heat set using parchment paper as an iron guard!

I am also working on my second Carolina Crossroads – the FIRST MYSTERY QUILT that Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville.com offered.  I love it and am making it again – but much larger the second time around!  I have to finish it – it is my UFO for April…..LOL.  I haven’t even finished making the blocks!

Go to Judy Laquidara’s Blog to see what quilters around the country are working on this week!

Your granddaughter’s quilt is so sweet-what a work of art! Love the Carolina Crossroads too

That is such a sweet quilt. I love the idea of using her art. I need to remember that for my little granddaughter 🙂

Do you plan to ever wash your granddaughter’s quilt and do you have any idea on how colorfast the wax crayons would be? This is such a NEAT idea and I have to agree with Chris, this is something I too would like to remember for my grandchildren.
