Colonial Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild – October, 2012

Posted By on October 7, 2012

We had a rocking good time at our Colonial Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild Meeting today in Williamsburg.  We had a good meeting, good program and wonderful class after the meeting.  And if that were not enough we had perfect weather too – cool with sunshine – for the backdrop for lots laughter, sharing, creativity and  fun.

We had one of the BEST SHOW AND TELL sessions ever….just wait until you see all of the pictures!  Here are just a few highlights:

…  Barbara knows how to do the MODEL RUNWAY WALK

…  Sherry shared not one but three challenge quilts  (I love the black cat – MAGIC – interpretation of the lady in black in red from the magazine page challenge.)

…  Bonnie and Barbara made 11 BEAUTIFUL quilts to gift to HOSPICE to show their appreciation for the care that they gave to their daddy and the entire family during his final stage of life.

…  Erika shared her CHILDHOOD MEMORIES CHALLENGE QUILT made with childhood dresses

…  Catherine amazed and entertained us with the possibilities of  new and unusual things that you can do with ordinary items!

… She also taught us to make not one – but four mixed media art pieces……one darling cupcake pincushion, two needle cases, and one EVERYTHING CASE!  It sure was fun.

….I must say that one of the highlights of the entire day was Bonnie Tucker’s announcement that she had persuaded THE ONE AND ONLY BONNIE HUNTER to come to Williamsburg in April, 2014 to teach a class or two and be our program.  Bonnie Tucker was beaming, jumping up and down, and twirling while the rest of us GASPED in utter disbelief and with great JOY, EXCITEMENT, and ANTICIPATION.

I will describe some of the pictures with captions below.  I hope you enjoy the show!  (Remember to double click on any picture that you would like to see in its enhanced – enlarged – version!)
