HELLO KITTY

It came, it came it came……..I am so excited.  After deliberating for MONTHS I finally decided to do it.  I got my HELLO KITTY sewing machine (ordered it from E-BAY) and tonight I am going to open the box.  It feels like Christmas!  Now I can be a part of the KIT KAT CLUB of the VIRGINIA SCRAPPERS.  🙂  It is a Janome and I have been told that it really isn’t a TOY MACHINE for children – even though that is what one might tend to think…..HELLO KITTY IS FOR BIG GIRLS TOO!

I am naming her MOLLY – because I have always wanted a MOLLY AMERICAN GIRL DOLL ever since my grandangel, Lacy, got SAMANTHA (and Lacy is almost 19) so that is a LONG time to want something!  Well, to make a long story short, I never got that MOLLY AMERICAN GIRL DOLL and so as a consolation prize I got myself, MOLLY the HELLO KITTY SEWING MACHINE.

A post or two ago I was openly plotting to see if I could find a way to become Catherine’s friend (Catherine is a VA SCRAPPER and a fellow member of COUNTRY PIECEMAKERS QUILT GUILD.)  I had an ulterior motive – I SO WANTED one of Catherine’s fabric quilted postcards that she gives to HER FRIENDS.  Well, wishes sometimes are granted.  The DAY AFTER I wrote about that motive in my blog, a quilted postcard from Catherine arrived.  It is WONDERFUL.  I think I feel an URGE to make a postcard – but have no idea how to start.   Isn’t it wonderful – lacy and glittery!   THANK YOU CATHERINE, I LOVE IT!

Old Virginia Road Quilt

I finished PART 4 of Bonnie K. Hunter’s Labor Day Mystery Quilt – OLD VIRGINIA ROAD.  I absolutely LOVE this quilt and I THINK it might be my favorite of all of Bonnie’s quilts………I like the CAROLINA CROSSROADS QUILT too – so it might be a close decision.  No, I think I can put this OLD VIRGINIA ROAD QUILT in first place…….now I just have to decide if I want to put borders on it or just finish it as a lap quilt.  I love the fall colors – reds, golds, browns and tans….with green pinwheels that look like falling leaves.  THANKS TO BONNIE FOR THIS QUILTVILLE MYSTERY QUILT FUN.
