sao Quilty Happenings

I am celebrating right now – yeah – because I have now completed the bindings on FOUR QUILTS this past week.  I just LOVE crossing things off my list – especially my UFO list. Here you go…..#1  SPLIT-NINE PATCH (my brother told me to tilt the camera to get THE WHOLE THING in – but I am not sure this worked……it makes me feel like I am on that flight simulator ride at the Aerospace Museum in San Diego!)  Some of these blocks were from an online swap exchange.  I really like this quilt!

#2  Milky Way…….from the Cutting Bee with Augusta Cole in January!  I absolutely find it almost impossible to take a picture of a quilt at my house WITHOUT a cat lounging on it…….they can hear that quilt touching the floor from any place in the house!  All of the fabric for this  quilt came from the cutting bee – I had so much fun – I am going to do this again next year!

#3 Moda Piece and Plenty Mystery Quilt – 2008 – finally it is complete!  Now that I have it made,  I am not sure what to do with it.  It isn’t exactly the kind of quilt that you would take on a picnic.

#4 Maverick Ant Stars (Maverick Stars is a free Bonnie K.  Hunter pattern at Quiltville.com) and I made the sashing from Leaders and Enders using 2″ wide fabrics of varing lengths – I like the look!  I think it is absolutely official – I love scrappy quilts.

I also made my Country Piecemaker’s Myster BOM block for August….I think we will be finding out how these pieces go together next month!

And I made my Chain of Fools BOM from Quilter’s Corner for August…..I know, I know, it looks a lot like the block for July – that is BECAUSE I accidentally made the July block again!  Can’t believe it but I did…..and I am going to keep it and PRETEND that it is the August block!  I like it better than the August block anyway…..there……have I convinced myself.

MY CARRY-ON CHALLENGE

And this is NOT a quilty happening – but I did get my luggage for my New England Tour in October – on sale at Macys!  YEAH.  At Target today I got lots of little travel sized toiletries.  I just might be able to pull this off!

Here is my 21″ bag……..will I be able to meet my CARRY-ON CHALLENGE?  I am going to try to pack for 8 days in ONE SMALL BAG!  I practiced today going without any hairspray and I must admit I had a bit of a wild look!  sigh.  :):)
