August 28, 2009 Poor Silver Belle

Posted By on August 28, 2009

While on my way to the Powhatan Library this morning – with visions of making pillowcases for cancer patients and laughing friends dancing in my head – Silver Belle was hit by a truck.  Poor thing – she got hit on the rear passenger side.  I heard from the auto shop that the truck that hit me was totalled and I am not sure yet whether or not Silver Belle can be fixed.

I am going to be fine too – I will just feel like I have been run over by a truck for a few days!  No pun intended.  Actually I am a wee bit loopy – but my SIL says that I am ALWAYS this way so it is difficult to know whether or not the meds are having an effect on me.  Actually he can say whatever he wants because he left work to go get stuff out of my car and to notify the insurance company – and, oh yes, he took the pictures too!

SO HERE IS MY OFFICIAL THANKS to my SIL, Greg,  for grabbing my STUFF out of my car – and for taking my Williamsburg FABRIC INTO WORDS Challenge Quilt to Sara to be quilted .  Colleen got my sewing machine out of the car – what team work.  I was so concerned about my Molly (Singer Featherweight) but the paramedics wouldn’t let me do anything – they just pushed me onto a surfboard and taped me down…they even taped my hair down.  WOW.

I am happy to say that MR. CLICKER survived.  I was so worried about him.  He is my “BELL” when I teach and school children far and wide would have been very upset if something would have happened to MR. CLICKER.  Yes, he has his own case – for he is extremely valuable – how else would the children know when to look at me and listen?

My poor basket did not survive.  If you know me well, you know that I LOVE BASKETS and so I am sorry to lose one……this is all that was left of my basket – the rest of her is now just a gathering of twigs here and there.

Cooper *6 year old grandangel* was most worried about the book, CAT HEAVEN that I keep in the car!    I am going to assume that the book is still in the car!

And I guess I will have to finish the CELTIC KNOTWORK QUILT quickly because its project box broke and the clasp is MIA.

Actually I am so very blessed to be able to be sitting here writing about this – my guardian angels were holding onto me tightly today.  I am thankful.  The best part is that I was carrying fruit to the library and for some reason the strawberries and kiwi exploded……..I think I am going to keep that little bit of green embellishment on my bag – it will be a sweet memory of a positive outcome (and also TIDE TO GO won’t touch it!)  And the explosion of fruit made my car smell BERRY NICE!

Hug your loved ones and your furry people today.

I am so very sorry about your Silver Belle and saying prayers that you are okay. I love the way you name everything but my only question is how do you remember all the names? Guardian Angels are always around us. Judy C in NC
