Colonial Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild – Williamsburg – September 2010

Posted By on September 7, 2010

Saturday in Williamsburg was a BIG DAY for the Colonial Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild – we turned in our Piece and Plenty Challenge Quilts and had fun ooooohing and aaaaahing.  We set up our own mini-quilt show – it was really exciting!  Mary Kerr was there to see how her Deconstructed-Constructed concept inspired us!

Not only did we have our Challenge Quilts on display but we also had GREAT show and tells!  Again, I wish I could comment on who made each one – but you just had to be there to really appreciate the WOW FACTOR!!!

Catherine made her debut as our head honcho product supervisor – it was lots of laughs!!  We can’t wait to see how she embellishes her hat for next month’s appearance.  She had some great ideas – using DOLLAR STORE placemats for cutting out quilt patterns –  and over-the-door shoe holders to store quilting goodies – we have to use every spare inch, don’t we!!!!

OH, HOW I wish that I could REMEMBER who did what challenge quilt so that I could have labeled them – there were so many beautiful ones.  They will all be displayed in the Virginia Quilt Museum and then after that they will be displayed at the Hampton Quilt Show.

And I just have to say that I am truly in love with the butternut and indigo quilt that was presented to our outgoing president – I think I need to shop for some butternut fabric right away!!!!!

I hope you LOVE the pictures – and stay tuned – the Williamsburg Quilt Guild Retreat is coming up soon – there just might be more pictures!
