AQS in Lancaster, PA 2011

Posted By on March 20, 2011

We really enjoyed the AQS Quilt Show in Lancaster, PA this year.  The vendors were simply ENTERTAINING and the quilts were WONDERFUL.  Unfortunately they would not allow us to photograph the quilts to put on blogs (and they were monitoring us pretty closely) …..bummer…..but I took a few random photos of NONQUILT fun.

My car, Nellie,  fell apart (literally) the day before we left but thanks to my DD and SIL we were able to find a place that could get it repaired (new brakes and lots of other parts……..)  WHEW!!!!  That was a little TOO MUCH EXCITEMENT……

…..and after Catherine spilled her drink on herself, EVERYTHING ELSE ABOUT THE TRIP was perfect!

Can you just FEEL the excitement……this year everything was under one roof and that was so nice!  It was a good thing too because the hotel/show shuttle was not free this year.

AQS Show here we come!

Checking in

Everyone was so nice – Catherine even got a free bandaid!  No, it wasn’t GREEN but we were dressed for St. Pat’s Day for sure…..do you think I had on enough green beads (Catherine made my scarf and her fantastic necklace…..it was truly a masterpiece!)

I sure wish I could show photos of the quilts – but guess I had better not since they were quite explicit with their RULE OF NO PHOTOS!

Ellen and Margaret took a quilting class taught by Sue Nickels – and she had them cut off FINGERS from rubber gloves to wear to guide the quilt during the quilting process.  Isn’t that an interesting concept to wear two rubber finger tips?

Ellen tried really hard to think of a USE for the leftover partly fingerless gloves…

Catherine flew into a fit of giggles with the GLOVE CHALLENGE

Well, I guess they COULD be used for a head adornment?

Margaret decided to pose WITHOUT the gloves – do you like this glamour shot?

  1. Entirely TUTU much fun and the Lancaster show and all the surrounding activities HAS to be one of my most absolute favorite destinations, but especially with my pal by my side…………………… I tend to think of the Rosemary Clooney song – Sisters, sisters, there never were more devoted sisters…………….
