KNIT KNIT KNITTING AWAY

Posted By on August 7, 2012

The knitting needles have been click  click clicking away here lately.

I finished my third and final project for CAMP LOOPY EWE……..the Whipporwill Shawl.  I found some rubber interlocking puzzle blocks at Wal-Mart so that I could block it.  This was my first attempt at truly blocking a finished work.  I used lots of T-Pins to get the shawl just the right shape and size.   I love this design (by Carina Spencer.)

I used Madelinetosh Tosh Merino Light yarn in Nutmeg and Parchment………this was really fun to knit.

My Blocking Mat is pretty colorful!!!

This was also my Ravellenics project and it had to be finished by the end of the Olympic Games on August 12.  So….I am happy to say that I met my goal.  TWO GOALS WITH ONE SHAWL!!  Camp Loopy and Ravellenics.

AND……I tested a pattern for Diane Louw……I believe that she is a designer from South Africa……..Jesse’s Hat.  The pattern is available at Ravellery…..

I did it with Sock Yarn that I got in Warrenton, VA at the Red Thread Yarn Shop (to make a pair of socks – it looks like my sock knitting has been DELAYED once again!)

Here is Jesse’s Hat……

And now – back to my MYSTERY SHAWL KNIT A LONG – my Stephen West Rockefeller Shawl still needs CLUE 4……..stay tuned ……..  here it is with the first three clues completed!
